The Legend of Mick T. Pirate & Whiskey Island

Centuries ago, when Sir Walter Raleigh first set course for the Virginia coastline, his menacing arch rival, the Fearless Sea Pirate Mick, set sail on his own path of uncharted territory.

Setting his compass for adventure, Mick T. Pirate and his colorful band of seaward sailors blazed a trail northwest to the Great Lake of Erie where a tiny island located on the mighty Cuyahoga River awaited.

Christened Whiskey Island after the pirate's favorite spirit, Mick T. Pirate's newfound colony soon became a safe harbor for his gregarious bunch of outcasts. Living off the trade of the river, this unlikely civilization quickly abandoned their swashbuckling hijynks for a more enlightened way of life.

On one of their many explorations of the island, the pirates uncovered a culinary treasure of spices and herbs. Their harvest yielded a delicious variety of pirate edibles and sundries that added a lively zest to their daily diet of raw fish and mush - unique olde worlde recipes to be passed on from one pirate generation to another.

But as time passed, Mick T. Pirate, yearned for a new adventure on the high seas. Although life on the island was good, he was anxious to explore other regions of the new world.

Adding further to Mick T. Pirate's excitement was intriguing news about his life long opponent Raleigh, whose notorious reputation was finally silenced when the King of England had him imprisoned for treason. With his nemesis now safely tucked away in the Tower of London, Mick planned to set sail for the eastern seaboard, just north of the Virginia Colony that Raleigh had explored years before, but never actually set foot upon.

Leaving Whiskey Island in the capable hands of his most trusted comrade, Mick T. Pirate guided his ship up the St. Lawrence River before entering the unpredictable waters of the Atlantic Ocean. Then turning southward, he headed towards the coastal inlet of the Chesapeake Bay, where Mick and his crew finally docked in an uncharted port that would later be known as Baltimore.

Before long, Mick T. Pirate and his new band of buccaneers began scouring the mainland for tantalizing ingredients that would make his already delicious edibles even more delectable.....culinary delights that would capture the imagination and stimulate the appetite for years to come.......and the adventure continues...
